Title: Columbia Business School: GCG to present tech park proposal

Quote: GCG will present the Ghana Technology Park proposal at the Emerging Markets panel at Columbia Business School’s 24th Annual BBSA Conference on Friday, November 18, 2005. The event will be sponsored by competing brokerage houses and investment banks, including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers, Deutsche Bank and Citigroup—all potential financial partners of the Ghana Technology Park. A cocktail reception will follow the conference, starting at 7:00 pm.

Ghana Tech Park: Recent Update

October 2005
Oracle Corporation initiated talks with GCG about the company’s interest in the Ghana Technology Park project. The Redwood Shores, California firm has requested a comprehensive status update on the tech park venture, which GCG will present in November. Management plans to raise additional capital through selling the right to name physical structures (e.g. Oracle Building, IBM building) on the campus of the Ghana Technology Park

November 2005
The Management team contacted Discovery Communications and the Black Entertainment Television with a proposal to produce a two-year special documentary on the emerging IT industry in Ghana, with a special focus on Ghana Technology Park. The proposed documentary, which is expected to attract future investors, will cover all aspects of the project, from conception to implementation and may be used to encourage similar ventures in other parts of West Africa.

December 2005
The managing director of the London-based Commonwealth Business Council Technologies and his director of global research will meet GCG leaders in Washington for a two-day summit to discuss a financial partnership role for CBC Technologies on the Ghana Technology Park venture.
